No. It is optional and you may choose at your discretion if you want to cover the processing fee. The processors (MasterCard, Visa, American Express) charges a service fee per transaction. That fee is paid by Olivet if you choose to opt-out of covering the processing fee. ACH (linking your bank account) has a 1% transaction fee and no transactions fees.
